What are Large format tiles? And should you use them for your home?

Any tile with one edge greater than 15” is considered "Large Format".

Large Format Tile Interiors

In recent years, this style of tile has grown in popularity for a number of reasons, most notably for their ability to make a space feel larger than it is.

In the same way that bright or light colours can open up a space, large format tiles create a sense of continuity in any home. They provide that larger room feeling on the floors or walls even if within a smaller space.

While previously large format tiles were difficult to maneuver and install due to their size, there are far more tools and systems readily available to make the installation process an easy one.

Another possibility is the the tile work was left to dry with excess adhesive on the tile edges. This can be avoided by cleaning the edges with a putty knife when the adhesive is still fresh.
